WHAT CAUSES NASAL BLEEDING IN CHILDREN?
Nosebleeds can be a frequent cause for concern in parents. A
lot of parent, not having knowledge of medical training, incorrectly
have the child lean backwards and apply pressure to the bridge
of the nose. They will then put ice on the now or just let it
stop on its own which could take as long as 45 minutes.
The best way to treat nasal bleeding in children obviously
is to prevent them. Epistaxis (nasal bleeding) can be caused by
allergies, dry mucuous membranes which become irritated and frequent
nose picking in addition to bleeding disorders.
If your child does not have other bleeding disorders such
as bleeding gums, ease of bruising etc, it is most likely the
dry air. It may help in addition to the deployment of a humidifier
to use a saline nasal spray and or a gel for the nose such as
vaseline which will help the nasal passages from drying up.
Some parents chose to have the blood vessels cauterized in the
nasal cavity and you may want to see an ENT specialist about this
procedure.
Another very effective treatment for nasal bleeding in
children is BleedArrest. BleedArrest is a natural plant-based
polysaccharide foam product that is used by Emergency First Responders
and ER physicians to treat nasal bleeding. The product works literally
in a few minutes to stop bleeding .
